N100010,  “The V-8 Smog Pump Test Car”, was delivered on May 28, 1966 from Fisher Body as coach #DD10D.  Like all F-Body Pilot Prototypes at Norwood, it started its hand built assembly in consecutive VIN number order as the tenth build of the engineering study.  One of one on Fleet and Special Order # 5-6 made by Engineering Testing it carried model # 12467.  This gold on gold convertible was the fourth convertible ever built.  With a 283 cubic inch power plant and a power-glide automatic transmission, its extensive presence in General Motors Proving Grounds photo shoots makes it the most highly documented convertible that still exists today.  It was required to be received by C. Caswell at the General Motors Proving Grounds on or around June 13, 1966 for testing.  NCRS certificates show #10 being returned to corporate, Zone 0 and it is was used as a company promotional vehicle shortly thereafter, prior being sold to the first owner.  Extensive and exhaustive history searches have gleaned the majority of all documented ownership history.  This historic piece of early Camaro history is currently undergoing restoration and the video, similar to N100001 is being produced.
